T-shirts for Gaby…Spring is here!

Hello!! I’m back, its been long again, this post will be short but I’m hoping to come back with a longer one soon. I just want to share something with you today.  I just made a couple of t-shirts for Gaby to start getting ready for some warmer weather around here. It was a long cold winter, I had forgotten what it was like after spending mild very mild winters in California.

So here I am, hopefully I can keep it up and stop being so lazy on my blog.

Hope you are having a great weekend!!

Gaby is into braids lately, because she’s a big fan of Lilly Singh and thinks she’s a very cool girl with beautiful long hair.

I made her a second T-shirt, this in navy blue polka dots that she loves so much.

She’s pairing this shirt with her favorite leggings from Fallowfield store in downtown Guelph. So soft and colors don’t fade away. The brand is NUI and its from New Zeland.

I hope to be back around these woods soon, it is easier sometimes for me to share what I’m doing on my Instagram @pattymadeit or @chiquitosclothier accounts that I forget to come around here.

Happy April month!

Just the four of us on Christmas!!!

This year we are not traveling anywhere and we decided to spend it quietly with our kids, easy day at home. We went to the city (SF) around 10:30am to have lunch in Little Italy, and from there we were going to go to church at USF, they have a beautiful church and there was a kids choir singing that afternoon. How convenient it turned out for us, mass at 4pm!!! It is always at 6, or 7pm and by then this kids are loosing it or tired, or falling asleep already. But 4 was wonderful. So we went and they managed to stay put for at least 45 minutes…it was enough for them and it was fair for the rest of people who wanted to enjoyed the whole event. So I’m happy it was something nice at the end and nobody got “hurt”.

Well, two days before I remember Gaby didn’t have something special for Christmas to wear, since I was busy planning her birthday and family visits in between, I didn’t have much time to sew, but managed to finish a dress one day before.

Her brother ended up wearing something store bought not as exciting or special like her outfit but he looked “guapo” (handsome). Our little walk before mass was at Presidio a lookout that we have stopped by before. It was windy and cold that day, so photos were taken quick and not so good!

Not the best photo of me, but this is me these days, I feel tired…I always do, might be age. What can I do but to age gracefully! hahaha!

This dress is so pretty. It is a light purple (lilac I would say) and is 100% cotton. Bought it a long time ago at the fabric store I had near by in Canada. I still have more of it and other colors!

This boy looked so cute even though his clothes were not handmade by mama. For now I can only make pants sometimes for him, shorts, shirts and t-shirts. But find it more fun to sew for girls honestly, I won’t give up on him though.

I hope you all enjoyed Christmas day with family and friends. Lets hope for a better year, for less craziness around the world, less violence, more peace, more love, more humanism from us towards others less fortunate.

Happy Holidays to all!

Gabriela will turn 7 soon!

Our Gaby will be 7 in less than 3 days!!! I can’t believe how fast it all happened. One day I was breast feeding this girl, changing pampers to a newborn, the first fever, the first tooth, solids, potty training…now she’s adding and subtracting, she’s reading the comics on the Sunday morning paper. All this is happening too fast, I wish she could stay seven forever!

Her birthday is on December 30th but most of her friends are gone on the holidays or are busy having family over and friends. So for the first time we celebrated her birthday with more than 4 friends. We had at least 10 kids in the house and it felt like 30 to me, but it was nice to hear all the voices and screams, and running around, we were very happy that she was enjoying the celebration.

Of course, I had to make a special dress for her that day so I got inspired from a photo a saw at Pinterest one day and went from there.

This is the image where I got the idea:

I think it is a such a cute idea, but I didnt have a nice solid like this pink or a cool print like the triangle section on this coat.

The birthday girl was a bit worried her friends were not there yet. This was taken 2 hours before!! So the waiting was long long long!

I love this fabric. I pre washed it just in case it would shrink a lot, but it didn’t much. I just got the last 3 meters from a store in Ventura called Superbuzzy, but this pink one from Nani Iro, I got it from Missmatatabi one of my 4 favorite fabric stores. You can see the dress I made has a cut on the sides almost similar to the narrow triangle shape that the Pinterest dress has. Now I’m thinking of trying it out with a solid and print.

She was so excited when she saw the bouncy house in the back of our house. They all jumped for at least two hours, and the screaming made the boys run away!

We had to move the fiesta into the garage since it was a bit cold and chances of rain. We played some Loteria (Bingo) in spanish! Some got very excited at the end.

Little Sebastián was overwhelmed with all the kids in his house. But he loved it too.

It was a nice day. Thanks to the parents that day that made it possible and brought their kids to our place, they made Gaby’s birthday extra special.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Happy days!!
